My Hauls

3/27/13 the Begining, the End, and somewhere between

Not all hauls need to be huge. I love coming home with just a handful of pieces and being totally enthused about them. Today was a great day in that sense. I grabbed two comics and a figure and couldn’t be happier about them.

First up was the new issue of Dawn of the Jedi. I’ve been very pleased with this series so far. Something about going further back in Star Wars history than anything else seems so fresh and new.

I was also very excited to pick up last weeks Star Wars Legacy #1. The fact that this series has been started gives me a great deal of hope that the expanded universe will be honored in the upcoming episode 7 plans. One thing I loved about the previous legacy series was all of the questions it raised about the missing 80-so years of Star Wars. The rise of the empire and the emergence of the One Sith. As plans for episode 7 are coming together I can only imagine how much will be revealed by Ania Solo’s adventures.

Th most exciting piece from the haul was a Darth Malgus action figure that was on sale at Toys r Us for $5! I already have Malgus in my collection but it is in my opinion one of the best Star Wars figures so far, so I figured it would be a great grab to keep unopened.

I <3 Toys R Us (Part 2)

Was stopping by the local TRU earlier today and not only was I able to find the Return of the Jedi Deleted Scene figures of Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction), Lando (Sandstorm Outfit), and Princess Leia (Sandstorm outfit)….

…they were half off! pretty solid grab!

Finishing Runs and Pickin Up Newbies

Today I stopped by Beyond Comics to pick up the new Agent of the Empire and Dawn of the Jedi issues, but they had been shorted on the Agent issues so I picked up the Darth Maul- Death Sentences I needed and they had some Ultimate Extinction issues I needed. photo-7

So I ended up with Star Wars Prisoner of Bogan #3, Darth Maul Death Sentence 2 and 3, and Ultimate Extinction 1, 3, 4, an 5 for $14, not a bad day.

Found a Random Little Comic Shop, and Cleaned out the Good Stuff

Found a little comic shop in Ellicott City, MD that had some goodies for me! They only had like 50 Star Wars Comics total, So I took everything worth taking. I had a bunch of the Tales of the Jedi issues already, but the Redemption issues are hard to find and I didn’t have Golden Age #0 yet. They were so cheap there I had to take them all!

I got the Golden Age of the Sith #0 & #4, the Fall of the Sith Empire #1, #3, #4, and #5, Dark Lords of the Sith #1 Ashcan Edition (A SDCC exclusive),  Redemption #1, #3, #4, and #5, Knight Errant Escape #3, Invasion: Revelations #4, and (randomly) Marvel: Armor Wars #2. I got all of them for about $12, so that was another great find!

Package from eBay LOADED with goodies!

I got a package in from one of my favorite eBay sellers. He was letting these go for about 60 cents a pop. So I grabbed a bunch of goodies.

I got Darth Maul: Death Sentence 1, Agent of the Empire #5, Dark Times: Out of the Wilderness #5, Darth Vader and the Last Command #5, Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison #4, Blood Ties: Boba Fett is Dead #1, X-men Evolutions, Prelude to Schism #3, Schism #2 & #5, A vs X rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 & 11, A vs X #4 & #5, A vs X Consequences #1 & #4, Doctor Who #8 & #10, Game of Thrones #1, Formic Wars #3, Mass Effect Homeworlds #3, and Mass Effect Invasion #4 for $18. So it was a GREAT day!

I Love Toys R Us

The problem with hunting at Toys R Us is that the best figures often sell out fast, but sometimes the kids miss the good stuff! I check every few days to see good deals and good finds and today I totally lucked out! When I picked up the local comic shops copies of the Star Wars #1 Reprint and #2, I stopped by Toys R Us to see if they had any extra copies to buy to save for resale and my results were better than I could have hoped for.

They didn’t have the reprint or #2, but they had 4 copies of the 1st printing of Star Wars #1! The 1st printing sold out ridiculously fast, and has been selling for pretty ridiculous prices online, so I picked up all of their copies and checked out the action figure section to recieve another surprise.

Not only did they have the Mon Calamari Pilot from the deleted scene of Episode VI, but they had a Nom Anor! I’ve been looking for a Nom Anor for a while and was having trouble finding a complete one for less than $25, but the figures were on sale for $5 each.

So today I got Star Wars (2013)  Issue 1 (1st Printing)(x4), Issue 1 (2nd Printing), Issue 2 (1st Printing), Nom Anor, and the Mon Calamari Pilot for $28. Not a bad day!
